After a significant amount of help from NARA folks in the DC area with Edward Gause's Mexican War Service Records, low and behold, his father John Gause is listed as a Captain at on one of his wife Flora's death tax cards.  A recent re-check of Fold3 yielded John's service listing with a unit in the NC Militia during the 1812 War so guess who is asking NARA for a little more help?  Your's truly and I will post what comes back from Trevor and his team when it arrives.  Delightedly awaiting that good news.

MAR 2013
 - First time attending Rootstech Conference (3rd year) with a record crowd of over 7,000 attendees!  Everyone I met loved the needed concepts Genedocs brings to reality with the IFL.

JAN 2013
 - Finally went to Hopkins County, TX obtaining the 1884 marriage Certificate of William G Tucker and Mary I Pool, but not too much else - enjoyed the cemetery visit though!

2012 - Work and School dominated much of 2012!

NOV 2012
 - Discovered 2nd great grandfather Edward Gause attended Kenyon University with later President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1838-9 and NOT later U.S. President James A. Garfield as family lore and the book "the History of Houston County, Texas" both alleged.

It's been an amazing last few years!
